*If you have an elevated temperature, cough, cold, vomiting or diarrhea  before your scheduled surgery, please call the office at

770-962-9977. 

*If you suspect you may be pregnant, please notify the center immediately at 770-338-1666.

* If the patient cannot read, speak English or use sign language, and an interpreter is require, please notify the center.

*If you need to cancel your surgery-please call the surgery center as least 24hours prior.  If you do not show at the scheduled time without notification to the center-then you may be charged a $200.00 no show fee.  The center's number is 770-338-1666.

 

Common Questions:

 

Is it common to experience constipation after surgery?

*Yes, often pain medication can cause this.  Drink plenty of fluids. Often the physician may recommend a stool softner.

 

I have pain from gas after surgery.  Is this this normal?

*Yes, many time laparoscopic surgery can cause gas pain from the gas used in surgery to view the cavity space.  This may last for a few days, but will go away on its own.  Walking early and often may help.

 

I have blood on my dressing-Should I be concerned?

*If your dressing is saturated with blood please call the on-call physician-404-487-2552 or 770-962-9977.  A small amount of drainage is expected. 

 

I took my dressing off, do I leave the small strips on?

*Yes, leave steri-stips on and they will fall off naturally with time or as directed by your physician. 

 

 

 

 

 

*You will be provided a token for your parking fee at the surgery center. Please be sure to ask for one if you have not been given one on the day of pre-op and surgery.
