Erica Proctor, MD is an experienced board-certified, fellowship-trained breast surgeon. She has been recognized by her peers as a Top Doc every year since 2014 and is a 40 under 40 Award recipient. She appreciates each opportunity a patient gives her to be part of their health care team. As a breast surgeon, Dr. Proctor recognizes the sensitive matter that comes with her job. She knows her patients might have anxiety about their appointments and she strives to put those fears at ease as she uses her expertise to help her patients create an educated and well-informed decision in regards to their treatment plan. Dr. Proctor is committed to providing her patients with compassionate care, using the latest advances in management of benign and malignant breast disease. She enjoys the opportunity to collaborate with other disciplines of medicine through research and in the clinic, helping to advance breast cancer techniques and management which leads to optimal patient outcomes. As a breast cancer surgeon, she is passionate about providing compassionate, culturally sensitive and the most up-to-date evidence-based care to each of her patients as they navigate complex surgical treatment decision making. As a breast cancer surgeon, she also collaborates with Northside Hospital’s Cancer Institute to make sure her patients have access to necessary resources. Dr. Proctor is board-certified in general surgery and completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology. She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and then completed her residency in general surgery and her fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System.
